Cheryl A. Christensen Bennett,
Founder & Executive Director
Cheryl Bennett retired from the County of Orange, California Social Services Fraud – NonFraud Department where she was responsible for researching regulations, verifying their correct application, budgeting, writing procedures and reports. She was a liaison between Social Services, other agencies and individuals. She founded and ran The 2nd City Council, a highly respected 501(c)(3) nonprofit art and performance space, for twelve years. She has been a serious genealogist for over 10 years and has written eight history books for her family, with another four in the works.
Cheryl is a professional photographer, lover of architecture and a life-long volunteer.
Maria C. Mullikin Jones,
Treasurer
Christie Mullikin Jones has thirty years of experience in finance and management. She has an MBA from California State University Cal Poly. She has worked primarily in the dental and medical fields, but spent four years as the financial manager of the non profit organization Services Center for Independent Living. She was responsible for budgeting, accounts receivable and payable. Currently she is the CFO of Inland Cosmetic Surgery Medical Corporation and Surgical Arts of the Inland Empire.
Christie is a dancer, avid traveler and animal lover.
Jennifer L. Starkey,
Secretary
Jennifer L. Starkey is Director of Operations for RE/MAX Estate Properties the #1 Real Estate Company in the South Bay and Palos Verdes. She is responsible for the daily operations of 15 real estate offices, including the hiring, training and development of staff, implementing new policies and procedures, Bureau of Real Estate compliance, and increasing her companies exposure through, advertising, marketing and social media.
In addition to her job at RE/MAX, in February 2016 she saw a need for efficient paperwork handling for Real Estate transactions and started her own company.
Three years ago she took on the challenge of raising money for Children's Hospital Los Angeles through her company. With fundraisers, awareness and dedication she took the companies annual donation of $80,000 in 2013 and raised it to $108,000 in 2014 and $121,000 in 2015. In 2014 she was honored with the Children's Hospital Miracle Award and in 2015 asked to serve on the Children's Hospital Council.
Jen's passion is working for the well-being of children and finding homes for rescued dogs and cats which included her own bunch of babies.
